Virtual Data Tables Feature
The Virtual Data Table feature within GVC.SiteMaker allows the user to collect, store, manage and share structured information on their own website, in database format.
Benefits of the Virtual Data Table Feature allow individual website owners to:
- create a data table, adding and defining fields in the table suitable for the purpose it will serve
- establish select access to groups or individuals allowing them to browse/search and/or add and/or delete records in the table
- determine the desired format the data is available on in a given web-page, a single record, a record list, a form to add a record, or a search form
- create various pages using the same data table where some fields are displayed on one and not on another
- establish whether or not a field(s) is editable to viewers
- create a web-page that displays the data table for general viewing in which a viewer can browse/search but cannot add or delete records
- set up email notification to individuals and/or groups when data table records are either added or modified
For additional information pertaining to GVC.SiteMaker's data tables; set-up and practical uses, please review UM.SiteMaker (the University of Michigan's website using GVC.SiteMaker) where data tables are presented.
