System Administration Feature
The System Administration feature within GVC.SiteMaker empowers administrators to have centralized and/or distributed control over the participants and the collection of websites built within the application.
Benefits of the System Administration Feature allow Website IT and Administrative Support Staff to:
- assign user privilege levels, such as System Administrators, Unit Administrators, Style Administrators and Website Owners to provide different levels of access to the system to share, delegate and control responsibilities
- turn off published websites containing questionable content
- create units and sub-units and create a hierarchical structure of websites to mirror the structure of an organization
- set unit and website server space limitations and control overall server space usage
- assign website style templates for each unit which can be accessed and used by any website owner within that unit
- provide a default website as a starting point for any authorized person to use when creating a new website
- authorize website configurations to be copied as the basis for a new website
- redirect visitors to an external URL while a new website is under construction
- send blanket emails to notify and update website owners and direct their activities
- receive automated emails to delegated staff of user site requests
- manage site requests in a workflow from notification, to requesting more information, referring the request to another staff, and completing the request by either deny or granting
- communicate with users of the system either as individuals such as site owners/co-owners or unit managers, or based on user group privileges
